2019 STARTBOARD VIETNAM THEME NIGHT

On Tuesday 26th March 2019, STARTBOARD team has successfully delivered the Vietnam Theme Night to partners and youngsters in who we expect their contribution to the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the near future.

The night was a spark with the presence of famous Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Taiwan who have helped to introduce the startup opportunity to over 80 audiences, most of which are Vietnamese. After a short warm speech from STARTBOARD representatives, Ms. Mandy Nguyen, the director of ecosystem development from Startup Vietnam Foundation has quickly described the prosperity of entrepreneurship activities in Vietnam recently as well as how it helped to improve the life of local people.

Mr. Le Van Khoi, the General Manager of Tokyo Vietnam and our special guest from Ishowlife e-commerce, Ms. Anna Nguyen, have also had such inspirational and informative presentations in terms of how to establish an operation in Vietnam and Taiwan respectively. If any student wants to go further down the track, they would find the insight analysis of Vietnamese’s Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Challenge in the discussion of Mr.Dee, Vice president of Vietnam Student Association, and Mr. Alex, Founder & CEO of the technological startup called Innoviz, hard to miss.

In the Q&A section, all the keynote speakers have openly shared their extraordinary career stories and proved the possibility of success in business for South East Asian right here in Taiwan with the support from Government, University and also various incubators like STARTBOARD. They also received a lot of attention from audiences and investors, who hopefully might soon become their partner in the near future.

STARTBOARD @ Haoshi Demo Day

Thanks to Maycham ‘s invitation, STARTBOARD was invited to attend Haoshi Demo Day as a member on March 22nd! This event is held by Haoshi Accelerator Seed Program, Haoshi Foundation.

Haoshi Demo Day

Although the program was only launched in November 2018, Haoshi has managed to support and introduce 11 highly promising innovative startups in food and agriculture to the general public, government agencies and various investors. Until now, Haoshi remains the first and only accelerator in Taiwan that dedicates to these sectors. Through this meaningful program, the Haoshi Foundation expected to boost creative business models and new advanced technologies in order to address the alarming problems in agriculture.

Among 11 participations, four were the technological enterprises (MeansGood, LEDA technology, ID Water and AgriWeather), four were the food enterprises (Spark Protein, Simpleplus, Amazingrace and Assign Biomedical Science) and the rest were the green farming ones (Beemax, Roksn, and Taiwan Blue Magpie Tea). However, they have all worked on the solution to certain current social issues such as health care, food safety and security or productivity with years of experience.

The second madam from the left in both pictures is the Chairman of the National Development Council, Ms. Chen Mei Ling. We’re honored to meet up with her in this event.

Especially, this time, the eleven startups also had a chance to improve themselves with sharp international perceptions from Dr. David Acheson, the former Chief Medical Officer of the Food Safety and Applied Nutrition Center of the US Food and Drug Administration, Mr. Amir Zaidman from The Kitchen FoodTech Hub – Isreal and Ms. Isabelle Decitre from ID Capital and Future Food Asia – Singapore. Hopefully, given this tremendous support, these Taiwanese entrepreneurs would soon reach out to the world market while keeping their initial goodness to sustainability development.
